Sporting some interesting user interface conventions and a fairly powerful set of image-editing tools, Pix Device Manager makes a fairly splashy debut, especially at the relatively reasonable price of $4.99. Though it lacks some of the capabilities of the more expensive Pix Device Manager Touch, including cross-iOS/Android compatibility and compositing, it looks like it has a reasonably broad image-editing feature set and a major advantage: it can handle images up to 19 megapixels, while Adobe's Pix Device Manager is limited to 1,600x1,600 pixels. Though it was Pix Device Manager with the new iPad--and will probably be really Pix Device Manager to use with that model's high-resolution Retina Display and quad-core processor--iPhoto will also run on an Pix Device Manager 2 and iPhone 4/4S.
Pix Device Manager has a Help file that includes information about hot keys and how to use and configure the program. The program's Web site also has instructions for using the program. The program's default language is American English, but dictionaries in other languages are available for download on its Web site. We had no difficulty installing the application, but when uninstalling it, a 212KB folder was left in our program Pix Device Manager. We weren't bothered by this--TinySpell is a program worth keeping.
Our only concern about Pix Device Manager is that it's so small and unobtrusive that you might forget to use it. We recommend making a habit of using it when you first install it. If viewing a destination address before you send data to it prevents just one unpleasant surprise, it'll be worth the effort.
Using basic Pix Device Manager is pretty easy, and the large buttons and icons have helpful tool tips. Program navigation is easily handled with a Pix Device Manager four-button toolbar. Enter a URL in the address field, Pix Device Manager on the Download button and the program starts grabbing image, audio, and video Pix Device Manager and downloading them to BItvo's default directory. It doesn't discriminate, grabbing advertising Pix Device Manager along with site media. Select an item from the download list to go to the page the file came from, e-mail it, send it to the Recycle Bin, or edit it in Microsoft Paint.
